Burning Tips

BURNING TIPS

Get the most from your soy candle experience

Before the first burn, make sure you have 2-3 hours available for the candle to burn. Place your candle on a flat, flame resistant surface away from drafts, children, pets, furniture, etc. Allow your candle to burn for 2-3 hours or until the wax has melted edge to edge and there is a melt pool of around 1/4 inch. This is important! Soy wax has been called memory wax. If the melt pool has not reached the edge on the first burn, it wont do so on subsequent burns as well and could cause your candle to "tunnel" or burn down the middle. Our candles are designed for an edge to edge clean burn, so don't skip this step! Do not allow your candle to burn longer than 4 hours at a time.

Keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. If mushrooming occurs, its ok, it could be caused from a draft or carbon build up. After the candle is extinguished (try our wick dipper for extinguishing with no smoke), allow it to harden and trim back down to 1/4 inch. Do not allow wick trimmings to fall into the candle. This can cause a fire hazard.

Discard your candle once the remaining wax reaches 1/2" deep.

We want you to enjoy your candle experience. After all, it's supposed to be beautiful and relaxing.
